Part 1: Operational Specifications of Vacuum Sewage Suction Trucks
(I) Pre-Operational Preparation & Inspection

Assuming the engine, chassis, and vacuum pump are all in standard, undamaged, and normal working conditions, the operator must complete the following daily pre-check items:

  1. Check and ensure the vehicle engine is completely turned off.
  2. Remove the ignition key and keep it secure (ensuring the equipment cannot be accidentally started during the inspection).
  3. Inspect underneath the cab for any abnormalities (e.g., fluid leaks, loose drive belts, etc.).
  4. Check the hydraulic fluid tank to ensure there is a sufficient level of hydraulic oil.
  5. Verify that the vacuum pump filter is clean and properly seated in its correct working position.
  6. Check the cooling water tank level; it must reach at least 2/3 of the maximum tank capacity.
  7. Verify that the tank rear door is tightly sealed against the tank body and all locking mechanisms are correctly locked.
  8. Inspect the discharge valve on the rear door to ensure it is fully closed.
  9. Check the fuel tank to ensure there is sufficient fuel for operation.

Once all the inspection items listed above are verified as normal, reinsert the key into the main ignition switch.

(II) Standard Equipment Startup Procedure

Operators must strictly follow the instructions and sequence below to start the equipment:

  1. Start the engine and inflate the vehicle's air reservoir until the air pressure reaches 0.6–0.7 MPa.
  2. Depress the clutch pedal, press the Power Take-Off (PTO) switch, and slowly release the clutch.

CRITICAL WARNING: For all different hydraulic working conditions, running the engine under overload conditions is strictly prohibited.

1. Sewage Suction Operation
  1. Shift the "Boom/Boom Arm" lever on the multi-way valve to the OPEN position.
  2. Unlock the retaining clamps that secure the suction hose to the vehicle body.
  3. Turn on the remote control, and use the Up/Down/Left/Right directional keys to move the suction hose to the designated workspace.
  4. Monitor the pressure value on the vacuum gauge while adjusting the throttle knob to maintain the operating speed between 800–850 rpm. (Strictly prohibit the vacuum pump from exceeding its rated speed of 1050 rpm).
  5. When the vacuum gauge pressure surpasses -0.06 MPa, turn on the knife valve switch via the remote control to begin the suction operation.
  6. Once the suction operation is complete or when the tank is full (the automatic alarm system will trigger), turn off the knife valve switch via the remote control. Use the remote control to lift the boom arm.
  7. Return the throttle knob to its idle/original position.
2. Rear Door Operation (Opening/Closing) and Unloading
  1. Adjust the throttle knob while simultaneously monitoring the vacuum gauge pressure reading.
  2. When the vacuum gauge pressure exceeds -0.06 MPa, shift the "Lock" lever on the multi-way valve toward the OPEN direction to release the hydraulic locking pins.
  3. After confirming that all four hydraulic pins are fully disengaged, open the pressure relief valve at the rear of the tank.
  4. Once the negative pressure inside the tank is completely vented, shift the "Rear Door" hydraulic lever to the OPEN direction to open the tank rear cover.
  5. Shift the "Tank" lever to the LIFT direction to raise the tank body for gravity dumping.
  6. After the waste liquids/sludge inside the tank are completely discharged, shift the "Tank" lever to the LOWER direction to return the tank body to its horizontal position.
  7. Once the tank body is securely lowered, shift the "Rear Door" hydraulic lever to the CLOSE direction to lock the rear door back into place.
Part 2: Functions, Applications, and Industry Configurations
I. Functional Principles and Core Benefits

A vacuum sewage suction truck is a specialized sanitation vehicle designed to collect, transport, and transfer liquid or semi-liquid waste using negative pressure principles. Its basic structure includes a power system, a vacuum suction system, a tank assembly, and auxiliary components (such as high-pressure flushing systems and hydraulic lifting mechanisms).

Core Working Principle: The vacuum pump generates a pressure differential between the inside and outside of the tank (typically maintaining a negative pressure value of -0.08 to -0.09 MPa). This draws liquid or semi-liquid waste (such as wastewater, mud, sludge, and fecal matter) into the sealed tank via the suction hose. For discharging, the tank is tilted via hydraulic cylinders to dump waste via gravity, or discharged under positive pressure to designated treatment facilities.

Core Value Drivers:
  • High-Efficiency Waste Collection: Single-load capacities range from 3 to 12 cubic meters (depending on the truck model). Combined with an extendable suction hose (typically 5 to 8 meters long), it can reach deep into manholes and narrow ditches, increasing operational efficiency by 50% to 80% compared to traditional manual methods.
  • Environmental Risk Control: The sealed tank design (utilizing high-strength Q235B carbon steel or 304 stainless steel with a thickness of 4 to 6 mm) prevents dripping or leaking during transit. Combined with anti-overflow valves and filtration systems, it eliminates secondary contamination of road surfaces or water bodies.
  • Emergency Response Support: In cases of sudden environmental incidents (e.g., septic tank overflows or non-hazardous liquid leaks), it cuts response times to under 30 minutes, increasing emergency disposal efficiency by over 40%.
II. Main Application Scenarios and Scope
(1) Municipal Sanitation & Urban Infrastructure

Urban Drainage Maintenance: Used to clear blockages in municipal pipe networks by sucking up accumulated water, silt, and debris (such as mud and brick chips). Paired with high-pressure flushing systems (8 to 12 MPa water pressure), it restores pipe flow capacities, reducing network blockages by 65% and urban flooding risks by 30%.

Public Sanitation: Handles daily collection and transit of waste from public restrooms and leachate from garbage transfer stations to prevent odor dispersion.

Quick Reference Guide:
  • Primary Uses: Municipal pipe network desilting, septic tank cleaning, industrial wastewater extraction, mud pit dredging, river/construction site sewage emergency disposal, and auxiliary functions like road spraying or temporary firefighting.
  • Key Capabilities: Unlike standard fecal suction trucks, sewage suction trucks feature a cylindrical pressure-resistant tank structure with stronger suction force. They can intake mixed debris containing small rocks ($le$ 50mm) and brick shards, and feature hydraulic self-discharging functionality for quick unloading.
  • Typical Scenarios: Residential/public toilet septic tank clearance, urban storm and sewage pipe network dredging, wastewater treatment plant pre-treatment, factory discharge outlet emergency pumping, and port/dock waste clearance.
  • Operational Restrictions: Vacuum sewage suction trucks are NOT suitable for extracting petroleum oils, highly flammable, explosive, or highly corrosive chemical hazardous materials (unless specially customized with explosion-proof and anti-corrosive specifications).
  • Efficiency: Fills to capacity in 5 minutes; suction lift range 8 meters.
  • Transit Warning: Must be driven at moderate-to-low speeds during transport due to a high center of gravity and the absence of internal anti-surge baffle plates.
